A complete guide to setting up and managing payments for your swim club

What is Stripe Connect?

Stripe Connect is a payment platform that allows your swim club to securely accept payments from members. With Stripe Connect integrated into the Swim Club Connect app, you can effortlessly manage all your club's financial transactions.

Setting Up Your Stripe Connect Account

Follow these steps to set up Stripe Connect for your swim club:

1 Navigate to Manage Payments

  1. Open the Swim Club Connect app
  2. Switch to the 'Club Admin' role
  3. Tap the the gear icon ⚙️ to bring up the Settings screen
  4. Scroll down to the Payments sections and tap on Manage Stripe Connect
  5. Tap Set Up Stripe Connect

2 Initiate Stripe Connect Setup

  1. Tap the "Set Up Stripe Connect" button
  2. The app will create a Stripe Connect account for your club
  3. You'll be redirected to Stripe's website to complete the onboarding process

Note: Make sure you're authorized to set up payments on behalf of your club before beginning this process.

3 Complete Stripe's Onboarding Process

During the Stripe onboarding process, you'll need to provide the following information:

Business Information

  • Your club's legal name
  • Business type (typically "Non-profit" or "Unincorporated association")
  • Business address
  • Website (if applicable)
  • Contact phone number
  • Club representative's details

Banking Information

  • Your club's bank account details
  • BSB number
  • Account number
  • Account holder name

Identity Verification

As the club representative, you'll need to verify your identity by providing:

  • Your full name
  • Date of birth
  • Home address
  • Tax file number
  • A photo of your government ID (driver's license or passport)

Legal Terms

Review and accept Stripe's terms of service to finalize your account setup.

4 Return to the App

After completing Stripe's onboarding process:

  1. You'll be redirected back to the Swim Club Connect app
  2. The app will verify your Stripe Connect account status
  3. You'll see confirmation that your account is active

Managing Your Stripe Connect Account

Viewing Payment Capabilities

Once your account is active, you can view your payment capabilities:

  • Card Payments: Status of your ability to accept credit/debit cards
  • Transfers: Status of your ability to receive funds to your bank account

Stripe Dashboard

For detailed account management:

  1. Tap "Open Stripe Dashboard" from your club's payment settings
  2. Sign in to Stripe using the email associated with your account
  3. Access comprehensive reporting, transaction history, and account settings

Payment Settings

Configure your payment options within the app:

  1. Go to Payment Settings
  2. Set up fee structures
  3. Configure payment methods
  4. Customize payment notifications

Important Information

  • Processing Fees: Stripe typically charges 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction
  • Payout Schedule: Funds are typically deposited to your account within 2 business days
  • Support: For payment-related issues, contact Stripe support directly through their dashboard

Troubleshooting

Incomplete Onboarding

If you see "Onboarding Not Completed" status:

  1. Tap "Continue Onboarding"
  2. Complete any remaining steps in the Stripe onboarding process
  3. Return to the app to verify your status

Additional Requirements

If you see "Additional Requirements Needed":

  1. Review the list of requirements displayed
  2. Tap "Complete Requirements"
  3. Provide any additional information requested by Stripe
  4. Return to the app to confirm your updated status

Disconnecting Your Stripe Account

To disconnect your Stripe account from the app:

  1. Go to Payment Settings
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
  3. Tap "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm your decision

Note: Disconnecting your account will prevent you from accepting new payments, but any pending payouts will still be processed.
